It’s true. I think I must’ve grown accustomed to winter coming so quickly in Colorado because I just do not know what to do with 80 degree weather in NOVEMBER! Lord, help us! (Yes mother, I’m using the exclamation marks because I’m yelling.) In the meantime, I’m trying to do autumn things (we almost put up our tree last weekend…must resist). This was my most recent project.
For the sake of this post, ignore the ridiculous wedding picture on the left and the dust on the dresser and focus your attention on the wheat in the middle. I made it with fake wheat from Michael’s (autumn stuff is 80% off), an aluminum can, and hot glue. I glued pieces of wheat side by side on the outside of the can and then took the leftover wheat, tied it with twine and stuck it down in the middle of the can to make the bundle appear more full. ta-da! It doesn’t take much at the C-household.
*Whew* Anyone else glad the election is over?

Last year it took everything we had to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up our tree. We waited and waited and waited. And then Thanksgiving passed and we were done decorating 5 minutes later because we only use a fake 3-foot tree with lights built in. Oh, the memories.
And I love the wheat roll! Very farmy, yet classy.

Wow! That is beautiful! Can I steal it for my Thanksgiving table? You’re a wonder!
